This year, the NYUAD Hackathon is focusing on one of the most transformative technologies of our time: Quantum Computing (QC), along with the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in advancing QC, while addressing the challenges outlined in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

We are writing to share an important update regarding the NYUAD Hackathon. We have made the difficult decision to reschedule (postpone) the in-person NYUAD Hackathon to April 22–26, 2027. We recognize that further changes to the event dates may cause some inconvenience, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and flexibility as we work to deliver the best possible experience for everyone involved.
We are excited to share that ahead of the in-person Hackathon, our virtual ideation segment will align with the UN Water Conference, which will be co-hosted by the UAE and Senegal in Abu Dhabi from December 8–10, 2026.

Our Goal for the Arab World and Beyond
The NYUAD Hackathon aims to drive innovation in computer science and engineering, focusing on AI, Quantum Computing, Data Science, machine learning, security, privacy, tech startups, and technology for social good. This event lets students experience the full tech startup cycle—idea generation, pitching, learning new platforms, app design and development, and teamwork.
Participants learn best practices in QC and software development while receiving mentorship from top industry and academic leaders. They also create technology solutions for social good, aligning with the growing global focus on impactful computing. The Hackathon fosters future international collaborations, startup launches, and academic research.

Yaffa Jaradat won first place as a hacker in the 2023 NYUAD Hackathon, later becoming a speaker at the GESDA Summit and serving as a mentor in the 2024 NYUAD Hackathon.
